SANTA CLARA,
CA – Beceem Communications, Inc. announced that it
raised more than $40 million in a series D financing. The company was created in 2003 with the goal
of building a wireless technology company offering semiconductor solutions for
the wireless broadband market.
The round was led by Toronto, Ontario-based Teachers’
Private Capital, with investment from NEC Corp, Global Catalyst Partners, Khosla
Ventures, KTB Ventures, Intel Capital, Sequoia Capital and Walden
International.
The company intends to use the proceeds to invest in new
product development and strengthening the company’s development capabilities
for future products.
